Our team will review your submission and we will follow up by email with an invitation to schedule a more detailed conversation about your project, your goals, and whether fiscal sponsorship is the right fit at this stage. This initial call allows us to:

  • Learn more about your project and leadership structure

  • Understand your funding goals and timeline

  • Discuss which sponsorship model may be appropriate

  • Answer questions about our fees, expectations, and support

  • Confirm readiness for fiscal sponsorship and next steps

We do not ask projects to submit a full application before having this conversation. Please review our Q&A page to learn more about our program.

What We Want You to Know Before We Talk:

Mockingbird Incubator supports justice-driven projects by providing fiscal sponsorship, education, and nonprofit infrastructure designed for long-term sustainability. Fiscal sponsorship is a formal partnership that includes financial oversight, compliance requirements, and shared responsibility. At Mockingbird Incubator, we take this role seriously. We focus on clear systems, transparency, and education so projects understand how their organization operates and grows over time.

Not every project that completes the eligibility quiz will move forward. Completing the quiz does not guarantee acceptance into our program, but it does indicate that your project meets our baseline criteria for further review.

WE WELCOME PROJECTS THAT:

  • Provide direct services, gap services, or systems change work

  • Are providing thought leadership and innovation within their sector

  • Are run by founders of diverse backgrounds

  • Projects that are amplifying issues of equity, racial justice and inclusion

  • Projects with progressive values focused on human dignity, sustainability, and community building

  • Do grassroots and community organizing work

  • Value employment practices that advance equity
